The Level 3 IT and Computing course is designed to equip you with the knowledge, skills, and training to become an IT specialist. It provides an opportunity to enter employment in the IT sector or progress to higher qualifications in Computing and ICT at university. Throughout the course, you will develop a range of essential skills and techniques, alongside personal attributes necessary for success in your career as an IT professional. The curriculum is carefully structured to offer a solid grounding in a wide range of computing and IT applications, ensuring you gain a comprehensive understanding of how IT is used in modern society. The mandatory units of the course will cover key areas such as Information Technology Systems, Creating Systems to Manage Information, Using Social Media in Business, Programming, IT Project Management, Cyber Security and Incident Management, and IT Service Delivery. These units will help you build a broad skillset that is highly valued by employers in the IT industry.

Entry Requirements You will need 4 GCSEs at grade C/4 or above, including Maths and English. Alternatively, a Level 2 BTEC Certificate/Extended Certificate in IT at Merit grade, along with Maths and English at grade C/4, will also meet the entry requirements. Exceptions to these entry requirements may be considered on an individual basis.
