Students Explore British Airways Apprenticeships
Students discovered aviation career opportunities and gained practical advice on applying for apprenticeships during a visit from British Airways.
Stanmore College students explored career opportunities in aviation when we welcomed Hollie Burton, Emerging Talent Student Outreach Manager at British Airways, for an apprenticeship information session on 21 October 2026. With British Airways apprenticeship applications opening on 19 October, the session gave students timely advice on how to take their first steps towards a career with the airline.
Hollie explained the apprenticeship application process, sharing tips on preparing strong applications, demonstrating skills and standing out to employers. She also outlined the range of career opportunities available, alongside information about salaries, employee benefits and the perks of working for British Airways.
Students learned about the airline’s history and its role in the aviation industry, discovering the variety of career pathways available beyond becoming a pilot or cabin crew member. The session prompted plenty of interest, with students asking questions about apprenticeships, career progression and the skills needed to succeed in the industry. Several expressed an interest in exploring upcoming opportunities and preparing to apply.
At Stanmore College, we are committed to connecting students with employers and helping them make informed decisions about their futures. Sessions like this give students direct access to industry professionals, practical advice and a clearer understanding of the opportunities available to them.
A huge thank you to Hollie Burton and British Airways for visiting Stanmore College and helping our students explore their next steps.
