The Early Years Caring for Children Diploma Level 1 (NCFE) provides a solid foundation in childcare and early years education. Throughout the course, you will explore key areas such as the role of a childcare practitioner, the responsibilities involved, and the importance of working with children. You will gain an understanding of child development, learning how children grow physically, emotionally, and socially.
The course also covers promoting healthy lifestyles for children, including the significance of diet, exercise, and sleep, as well as maintaining good hygiene practices. You will learn how to support play and learning, recognising the importance of play in early childhood development and how to plan and encourage play-based learning. Safety and wellbeing are also key components, where you will study how to identify hazards and prevent accidents in childcare settings. Additionally, the course will help you build positive relationships with children and their families, supporting their emotional wellbeing. You will also learn about different childcare settings, their policies, and the importance of adhering to procedures.
