This qualification consists of units that represent small steps of learning, helping you develop skills in reading, writing, and understanding the basics of childcare.
It focuses on building the essential skills needed to care for babies and young children. Units cover various topics, including setting routines, promoting healthy lifestyles, and understanding the importance of play and learning. As part of Foundation Learning, this course allows you to explore and develop skills in child care. The qualification includes an Award and a Certificate at Entry level. To achieve the Award, you must complete a minimum of 9 credits, and for the Certificate, you must complete at least 18 credits.
Upon completion, you’ll earn an Entry Level Certificate in Caring for a Child/Children (Entry 3) and have the opportunity to progress to Level 1 in Childcare.

Entry Requirements Learners should have or be working towards Level 1 ESOL or equivalent. You do not need to be working in childcare to complete this qualification.
