The Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCo) qualification is aimed at level 3 practitioners working in private, voluntary, and independent settings (PVI’s), childminders, and school nurseries. It is designed for those already in a SENCo role or about to take on this responsibility. As all education providers must have systems in place to identify and support children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), this qualification ensures that you are equipped to promote equality of opportunity for children in your care. Throughout the course, you will explore the role and responsibilities of the SENCo, learn strategies and techniques for supporting children and their families, and deepen your understanding of SEND codes of practice.
