Our Business Introduction BTEC Diploma Level 1 course introduces you to the basics of the business world. The course will provide you essential knowledge and skills to build your understanding of business practices.
You’ll will develop an understanding of business organisation, customer service, marketing, financial management, and teamwork.
Units covered include:
- Being Organised
- Developing a Personal Progression Plan
- Working with Others
- Organising a Meeting
- Branding a Product
- Presenting a Business Idea
- Contribute to Running an Event
- Recording Income and Expenditure
- Communicating with Customers
The course will prepare you for further study or employability into entry-level roles in the business sector. You will develop sector specific and transferable skills, with powerful frameworks such as role-playing, planning and pitching business ideas, as well as visual displays and other key tasks.

4 GCSEs at grade 2 or above, including English and Maths.
Or, a Level 1 Functional Skills qualification. - Assessment
All units are assessed internally.
I chose Stanmore College because it was the only college offering T Levels in the location I wanted. The course gave me the chance to experience real workplaces while still learning in the classroom, and that balance made all the difference to my confidence and career direction. The biggest advantage of the course for me was definitely the work experience. I had the chance to work in both a recruitment firm and a secondary school, which gave me valuable insight into two very different sectors. These opportunities not only helped me build skills but also gave me a clearer understanding of how the world of work operates and what might suit me best in the future.
