Why study Health and Social Care at Stanmore College?

This area enjoys an excellent reputation and maintains strong links with the Local Authority, local nurseries, schools, care providers, NHS and children's centres in the area.

Our teaching staff are highly-qualified with extensive industrial experience. The team includes former primary school teachers, nursery nurses, health visitors, nurses, a social worker, radiographer and a nursery manager.

 

 

The courses provide a real life experience of working in a variety of roles within this area. Theory is combined with practical work so students are prepared to go into the workplace with the right skills. Work placements are an important part of the course, offering the opportunity to put learning into practice in a variety of organisations, including social services, nursing homes and day centres.

Our achievement rates are consistently higher than the national average and large numbers of our students' progress to universities and/or are successfully employed. Many of our students started at level 1 and continued right up to level 3. Several returned thereafter to complete a degree.
