Systems Data Developer

POST: Systems Data Developer
(Full time, 36 hours per week, through the year)

REPORTS TO: Director of Management Information and Data Services

JOB SUMMARY: The post holder will be expected to carry out day to day tasks with the minimum of supervision and be proactive in developing the role.

Main Activities

1. Providing support, documentation, and training to internal and external users of the college’s software systems.
2. Leading the development of automated and bespoke reports and data exports for college staff from a variety of data sources, using Transact-SQL, MySQL, Python, Microsoft Excel and other relevant tools.
3. Developing self-service “dashboard” reports in various graphical and tabular formats for all areas of the college where needed to increase transparency and effective use of data.
4. Using initiative to create systems and reports by identifying common requests and usage trends. Evaluating college, staff and student needs to identify opportunities for improvements or additions to systems as an ongoing concern.
5. Receiving, prioritising, delegating, and implementing data and systems requests from other members of staff and departments.
6. Taking feedback on systems from internal and external sources and observing their use to identify improvements to processes and the general user experience of developed software.
7. Monitoring the performance, stability and security of relevant systems and identifying, fixing, or reporting issues where applicable.
8. Overseeing the administration of several Microsoft SQL Server instances and ensuring where possible that they are at optimal levels of performance by altering queries, data warehousing, configuring indexes, etc.
9. Leading the design, development, testing, integration and support of desktop, mobile and web applications, and background services.
10. Responding to individual staff support enquiries and ensuring system or data related issues are resolved in a timely manner.
11. Debugging and tracing potential issues identified by staff to explain results or resolve problems.
12. Ensuring data reporting priorities and deadlines are identified and achieved with internal customers and external agencies.
13. Assisting with automated data capture, transformation, and transmission to external providers where necessary.
14. Taking personal responsibility for supporting, promoting and following all College policies in relation to health and safety, safeguarding, equality & diversity and data protection within the scope of the post.
15. Attending any relevant internal or external meetings to provide feedback or guidance, and to keep up to date with changes in sector and college needs.
16. Visiting various areas of the college, or different sites, in order to ascertain requirements or determine issues.
17. Undertaking any other duties of a comparable technical nature as required by the College.
18. Performing the above duties to a high standard with near-zero assistance or oversight, mindful of the organisation-wide mission-critical and usually time-sensitive nature of the systems and data being produced.

The postholder can and may be required to carry out any other duties consistent with the grade of the post, at any site on which Stanmore College may operate.

We are looking for a Business lecturer to teach across a range of vocational Business courses at Levels 1 and 3. There may be a requirement to teach on T Levels and on Level 4 programmes. Business is one of the biggest area at Stanmore College. You will be joining an expert team who are very supportive and dedicated to deliver outstanding outcomes for learners. We deliver Business courses from Entry 3 to HE. The learner is at the heart of everything we do.

We are looking for an experienced and efficient person with suitable qualifications for the post of Work Placement Officer. You will be responsible for sourcing and arranging placements for all departments across the College as required. Carrying out visits to employers’ premises as required and visiting students in a range of settings.

You will have a minimum of one year’s experience of supporting post-16 or secondary school students and a Level 3 qualification. You will have excellent written and oral communication skills and good IT skills.

Salary : Band G, points 21 – 24, £27,156 - £29,237 per annum

We are looking for an experienced and effective HR Officer to work in the HR department at Stanmore College.

Organising and reporting on staff CPD/training and leading on the College appraisal scheme and Probationary. Managing the staff recruitment process to include sitting on shortlisting and interview panels and producing contracts of employment. Maintaining staff records and producing reports using the computerised HR system and responding to external surveys. Assisting with all functions of the Human Resources department. Assisting with the monthly payroll.

The successful candidate will be educated to at least level 3, CIPD qualification desirable.

We are looking for a committed and enthusiastic Estates Officer to complete site maintenance tasks to a high standard, pre-planned maintenance, site and health & safety checks and to assist with general site maintenance duties.

Monday to Friday 1100 – 1830 (alternate)
Saturday (typically 1 in 4)
