Higher Education
Our Higher Education courses are delivered in partnership with the University of West London (UWL)
They provide an opportunity for learners to develop the appropriate vocational and academic skills and specialist knowledge to achieve a higher level qualification in their chosen subject.
They are tailored to meet the needs of employers and potentially lead to employment, career progression and further study.
If you are an undergraduate starting a Foundation Degree or a 1-year BA (Hons) top-up degree on a full-time course in the 2023/24 academic year you will be eligible for our Undergraduate Bursary.
What does Higher Education mean?
Higher Education refers to courses at level 4 and above that sit within the Frameworks for Higher Education Qualifications in England, Wales and Northern Ireland (FHEQ). These include Higher National Certificates (HNCs -- level 4), Higher National Diplomas (HNDs -- level 5) and Foundation Degrees (level 4 year 1 and level 5 year 2) and are equivalent to the first 2 years of a full Honours degree. HNCs, HNDs and foundation degrees combine vocational and academic study that can be 'topped up' with an additional year of study at level 6 to obtain a full Honours degree.
Our Higher Education courses are more affordable than you might think. If you are a UK student planning to study a full-time or part-time higher education course offered through the University of West London , you may be eligible for a tuition fee loan to cover the cost of your course.
If you study full-time you may also be eligible to receive a maintenance loan and a grant to assist you with living costs.
You will only have to pay back your tuition fee loan once you are earning a minimum of £27,295. A student loan facility is available for HE courses. Further information can be found on the Gov website.
The University of West London is ranked 23rd (out of 121) in the Guardian University Guide 2023 rankings of UK higher education institutions.

Our HE courses are more affordable than you think. Our HE courses are considerably less than if you were studying the same qualification at a university campus and you can apply for a tuition fee loan to cover your fees.
