Access to HE
Access to Higher Education (HE) Diplomas are Level 3 qualifications designed for adults who want to progress to university but do not have traditional qualifications such as A Levels.
These intensive one-year courses develop subject knowledge and essential academic skills, including writing, research and critical thinking, while earning UCAS points for university entry. They offer a supportive route into degrees such as nursing, healthcare, social sciences and business, helping you take the next step with confidence.

“I chose Stanmore College because it was one of the few colleges offering Access Courses for individuals over 18 and was the only one willing to accommodate my late enrolment. The supportive teachers and excellent course, even during the challenges of COVID-19, played a key role in my success. My time at Stanmore built my confidence, strengthened my skills in mathematics, engineering, and IT, and prepared me for university. After completing my Access Course, I received a scholarship to study Mechanical Engineering at Queen Mary University of London, where I will graduate in summer 2024. I’m incredibly grateful to Stanmore College for shaping my future and helping me achieve my goals.”
