Welcome to Stanmore College Business!

Business skills and qualifications are becoming more important in today's challenging economic times. At Stanmore College, our teachers are highly qualified and many have industry experience, which ensures that their knowledge is up to date. Courses also have a strong employability focus, giving you an opportunity to learn new skills and share ideas.

What kind of student does Business Studies appeal to?

This subject is a very popular choice. Its appeal is partly related to its real-life relevance and future career prospects. Stanmore students have had considerable examination success over many years. Many students studying Business Studies either go on to university to study for degrees in Business Studies, Accountancy and Financial Management or other related subjects.

Students starting a career straight after completing their examinations seek employment in the business world, particularly banking, finance, insurance, law, management and the civil service. At Stanmore, our students also have an opportunity to start their own profit-making company with our help getting invaluable experience while studying.

Our priority is not only to ensure that you achieve your qualifications but also that our students can perform effectively in the workplace and add value to any organisation.

Business Students' Young Enterprise Challenge

Business students benefit from Stanmore College's link with Central London's Old Mutual Wealth Investment firm. As part of this, students developed enterprise initiatives and attended workshops at Old Mutual Wealth's Headquarters in Central London. A number of students have applied and been selected for internships where they will work for a full 9 weeks on an actual business project in marketing and finance, working with and supporting other corporate staff members and contributing to the team. For this, the students will receive a salary and be entitled to holiday leave within the internship period.

Internships such as these enable students to make industry contacts, boost their CVs, convert academic knowledge into industry skills and gain an unforgettable life experience which will give them an advantage above students who don't have these opportunities when applying for jobs or to university.

Projects undertaken by business students so far this year have included devising their own businesses, in one case Valentine's hampers, which were subsequently sold at Spitalfields' Market in London and from which the students made a profit which was donated to charity.

Lets see what our students have to say...

"The teachers in Stanmore will do whatever it takes them to make you feel comfortable and they will have a one to one discussion often if you want, about what’s happening around and if there's any concerns or worries going on which I find helpful and kind of them. THANK YOU… STANMORE COLLEGE."
