The Supporting Teaching and Learning NCFE Certificate Level 3 is for you if you want to develop your skills and knowledge to support teaching and learning in schools. Throughout the course, you’ll cover a range of topics, including child and young person development, safeguarding, supporting teaching and learning, promoting positive behaviour, and understanding the role and responsibilities of support staff in educational settings.
You will gain insight into the importance of supporting children’s emotional wellbeing and how to assist in planning and delivering activities that support their educational growth. You’ll also explore the principles of inclusive practice and how to work with a diverse group of children.
The qualification combines knowledge-based learning with practical experience, allowing you to apply your skills in a real school setting. Throughout the course, you’ll develop the knowledge and practical competencies needed to support teaching and learning, working with children and young people under the direction of teaching staff. On successful completion, you may progress into roles such as Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant or Classroom Assistant in primary, secondary or special school settings.

- Entry Requirements
Level 2 English (or equivalent qualification).
Level 2 Early Years Support in Teaching and Learning qualification.
Work or volunteer in a classroom with Year 1 (or above) students for at least 12 hours a week (for the duration of the course.)
Letter from employer confirming your role within the industry is required.
An active DBS is required for the work placement. - Assessment

I chose Stanmore College because it was the only one offering T Levels in Early Years, and it was the perfect choice for me. The course offered me deeper content and a much wider experience when it came to experiencing exams. With five different types of exams on the course, I felt that experiencing this range would help me be better prepared for university, where I aim to complete my Level 6 qualification. My vision is to become a room leader, work my way up, and eventually open my own nursery. I am proud to have a scholarship waiting for me, and I really excited about what the future holds.
