The T Level Early Years – Education and Childcare provides you with the knowledge and skills needed for a career in early years education, teaching, or childcare.
Throughout the course, you will develop a strong understanding of child development, safeguarding, health and safety, and working with children and families. You will explore topics such as play, learning theories, and behaviour management, alongside the professional responsibilities of working in an educational setting.
A significant part of the course involves practical experience through a substantial industry placement, allowing you to apply your learning in the real-world environment. You will also study an occupational specialism to develop your expertise, this can be in areas such as early years education or assisting teaching.

- Progression
You can progress to a Level 4 qualification, further study, employment, or apply for an apprenticeship.
- Entry Requirements
4 GCSEs at grade 4 or above, including English and Maths.
- Assessment
Exams.
- Work Experience
A minimum of 375 hours each year (750 hours over 2 years) of industry placement with an employer is required for this course.
