Building Green Skills for the Future
Students gained valuable insights into climate change, sustainability and the future of green careers during an engaging Climate Skills Workshop delivered by leading academics from Brunel University and Kingston University.
We were delighted to welcome Professor Monomita Nandy from Brunel University and Dr Suman Lodh from Kingston University, who shared their expertise and encouraged students to explore one of the most pressing global challenges of our time.
The interactive workshop covered a wide range of topics, including climate awareness, global warming, carbon footprints, energy conservation and sustainable living. Students also discovered how green skills are becoming increasingly important across every industry, highlighting the growing demand for professionals who understand sustainability and environmental responsibility.
Learners actively participated throughout the session, contributing to discussions, asking insightful questions and exploring practical solutions to environmental challenges. Many reflected on how the workshop helped them better understand the connection between climate issues, their studies and future career ambitions.
The guest speakers brought the subject to life by demonstrating that climate action extends far beyond environmental concerns. They highlighted its economic, social and professional significance, while showcasing the exciting opportunities emerging within the green economy and the skills that employers will increasingly value in the years ahead.
At Stanmore College, we are committed to providing enriching experiences that broaden our students’ horizons and prepare them for the opportunities and challenges of the future. Events such as this Climate Skills Workshop help develop informed, responsible and proactive individuals who are ready to make a positive impact within their communities and the wider world.
We extend our sincere thanks to Brunel University and Kingston University for supporting our students and inspiring the next generation of changemakers.
Every action counts. Together, we can build a more sustainable future, one skill at a time.
