T Level Student Explores Finance Careers with Lloyds Banking Group

Our T Level Accounting student has gained valuable industry insight and career confidence after completing a virtual work experience programme with Lloyds Banking Group, strengthening the connection between classroom learning and real-world finance.

T Level Accounting student, Howell, took an exciting step towards a future career in finance during the Easter break by participating in a virtual work experience programme with Lloyds Banking Group on 30 March.

The programme gave students the opportunity to explore the world of banking and finance while gaining insight into how one of the UK’s largest financial institutions operates. Through interactive activities, real-world case studies and guidance from industry professionals, participants developed a broader understanding of the sector and the wide range of careers available within it.

Throughout the experience, the student strengthened key professional skills including financial analysis, communication and problem-solving, while also seeing how classroom learning can be applied in real business environments.

Reflecting on the experience, Howell said:

Taking part in the Lloyds Banking Group virtual work experience really opened my eyes to the different career paths in finance. I especially enjoyed learning how businesses manage their finances in real-world scenarios. It has made me feel more confident about my future and motivated me to pursue my career.”

The flexible structure of the programme, which allowed students to choose which day to attend, made the opportunity accessible while still delivering meaningful and engaging learning.

Experiences like this highlight one of the major benefits of studying a T Level at Stanmore College: access to valuable employer engagement opportunities that help our students build confidence, expand their industry knowledge and prepare for future employment.

By taking part in experiences with major employers such as Lloyds Banking Group, students can begin developing professional networks, exploring career pathways and gaining practical insight that complements their academic studies.

This work experience has reinforced the Howell’s ambition to pursue a career in accounting and finance, and demonstrates how T Level students at Stanmore College benefit from opportunities that bridge education and industry.
