A huge emphasis is currently being placed on English Language and Literature at Stanmore College. We have an experienced and dedicated English team and, we offer courses at a range of levels to suit the need of every learner.

Knowledge consultants were recently engaged to create the links and resource information on our virtual learning environment to ensure current and relevant resources are at hand for our students.

The College celebrates World Book day each year and runs a poetry competition and a "six book challenge" and prizes include Amazon gift vouchers!

In addition to the above, our creative writing workshops offer students the opportunity to develop their literary skills, explore new genres and consolidate their strengths. Students produce original pieces and share their writing in an informal, supportive atmosphere. Practical help is offered as well as opportunities for performance and publication.

E-learning is developing well across the college and a specialist e-learning materials team is in place. New resources include e-books, a dedicated e-learning zone, study links, access to subject based communities and we plan to run subject showcase sessions.
