Course Content

Esports is defined as organised competitive gaming, which is human versus human, either as individuals or in teams. 

This qualifications has been developed to meet this upcoming demand for skills in esports. It will give you an opportunity to take part in tournaments and compete against amateurs and professionals. 

The qualification include a breadth of transferable skills that enable learners to experience different areas of esports to aid their progression to employment, either directly or via further study. Esports offers a unique opportunity to study a sector that crosses over multiple subject areas such as sport, marketing, enterprise, IT and the creatives.  

The course will be a mixture of classroom-based study alongside the development of technical skills utilising the college’s specialist equipment and as accessing external facilities to supplement the knowledge and skills gained.  

2 year course with the option of 1 year.

Modules you will study in year 1 include the following:

  • Introduction to Esports
  • Esports Skills, Strategies and analysis
  • Enterprise and Entrepreneurship in the Esports Industry
  • Health, Wellbeing and Fitness for Esports Players

Course Outcomes

Pearson BTEC Level 3 National Foundation Diploma in Esports

Progression

After this course is completed you could go on to study a relevant Esport, Sport, Business or Leisure degree-level course. You could also progress straight into work or start an apprenticeship.

Entry Requirements

You must have a strong interest and willingness to be involved different industries including esports, Enterprise and Entrepreneurship industries.

Five GCSEs at grade 4 (C) or above including English and maths or, 

a Level 2 esports diploma AND GCSE English at grade 3 (D) or above

Internal formative and summative assessment of coursework and synoptic assessment
