Course Content
This course will introduce you to a range of media based skills including filming, editing, sound design, graphic design, script writing and photography. You will work with a variety of equipment including HD cameras, sound recording equipment, iMacs, DSLR cameras and Adobe software such as Photoshop, Premiere and Audition.
You will be introduced to the work of media practitioners and will learn media codes and conventions and how to analyse media products, producers and audiences.
Course Outcomes
Achievement of a L2 Diploma in Creative Media Production. Equivalent to 4 GCSEs.
Progression
The course provides a strong foundation for progression onto a Level 3 course in Multimedia or Film and Television.
Most young people studying on the Creative Media study programme progress to university to study Graphic Design, Games Design, Animation, Film, Journalism, Illustration or Photography.
Entry Requirements
4 GCSEs at grade D or above, including Engish. Passion for the course area is a must and a portfolio is desirable but not essential.
Assessment
Mainly coursework internally assessed and externally moderated. There is some external assessment.
Equipment
There are likely to be visits and trips, which will incur costs.
