Our Irish students comment on St. Patrick's Day

Darragh, Level 3 Sports student at Rayners’ Lane Satellite Centre told us….

“What do I like about St Patrick’s day?  I like that everyone has a day to appreciate my culture and the Irish people who have made a difference in the world and celebrate their achievements and what they mean to my country and the world.

How do I celebrate St Patrick’s day?  We all wish each other a happy St Patrick’s day and my family gets together and we eat traditional Irish food and listen to Irish music and go to the pub and drink some Guinness and celebrate our culture!”

Adult student, Joan Walsh, who enjoys the yoga class told us

“I've lived in England for nearly 60 years now, Ireland is where my roots are, St Patrick is our Patron Saint so we celebrate by going to Church and meeting up with family, it's a bank holiday there. In the evening we go out and enjoy music and watching Irish dancing.”  Joan also told us what a fantastic group her yoga class is with a wonderful teacher – “all of us find it very beneficial – it helps to exercise and keep fit”.
