The Women’s Hairdressing VTCT NVQ Diploma Level 2 is an Ofqual regulated course.
This course is perfect for you if you are passionate about hairdressing. Whether you’re looking to start a career in a fast-growing industry or looking to enhance your existing skills, you will gain hands-on, industry-relevant training in a short time frame. The qualification opens doors to various career paths, such as working in salons, starting your own business, or becoming a freelance stylist.
The course is designed to equip you with the fundamental skills and techniques needed to work as a professional hairdresser. It offers both practical and theoretical training, preparing you to be able to deliver high-quality hair services in a salon or freelance setting. The main modules are:
Cutting:
Learn the core techniques of hair cutting, including basic styles, creative cutting, colouring, colour correction, and advanced cutting methods for various hair types.
Colouring:
Gain skills in hair colouring, including application techniques, colour mixing, and creating custom shades to meet client needs.
Styling:
Master various hair styling techniques such as blow-drying, curling, straightening, and key techniques for updo hairstyles.
Additional Information
- Progression
You can work as an Junior Stylist, Stylist, or Salon Assistant / Technician. You can also study Level 3 Hairdressing, or take specialist courses such as: Barbering, Hair Extensions, Trichology (scalp and hair health), or Men’s Hairdressing. You can apply for a apprenticeship in hairdressing that can potentially lead to full-time employment.

Level 1 English (good Level of English speaking and literacy).

Our Beauty and Hairdressing courses are currently offered at two well established academies in Stanmore and the local area.
- Facilities
Our academy emphasises in-house work experience on a rota in order for learners to strengthen industry experience alongside working with professionals in the field. This supports learners into employment through their network of contacts and social media channels.
