T-Levels are a new qualification equivalent to a 3 A-levels. They have been developed in collaboration with employers and businesses so that the content meets the needs of industry and prepares you for work, further training, or study. As part of the course, you will complete a significant work placement as well as face to face teaching at college. This course will give you both the knowledge and skills required to have a successful career working in an accountancy sector. In the UK the accounting sector is worth approximately £6 billion, with over 7500 organisations and just under 50,000 employees. Accountants are required not only to manage the finances of organisations, ranging from sole traders through to large corporate companies, but also for decision-making for the business, based on their financial accounting expertise.
Accountancy course will include:
A work placement in an area of interest such as within an industry or accountancy practice. An academic qualification covering: Core accountancy concepts, working within the accounting sector, understanding accountancy rules and regulations, preparing primary financial statements, analysing business performance, and presenting results and Providing support to tax and audit functions. The occupational specialism that will allow you to develop the relevant skills in preparation for your career in the accounting industry.
Outcomes: The core knowledge component provides a broad understanding of the accounting industry and covers the following accounting-related topics:
Understanding the business environment Understanding key accountancy regulations Fundamentals of financial accounting Professionalism and ethics Security and risk Fundamentals of law Technology Data driven innovation/analytics and design thinking Research skills Project/change management and administration T-Levels provided a route to university with equal UCAS points to 3 A-levels. T level qualifications have also been designed by employers to give you the skills required to succeed in your career.
T-levels have been designed with both university and apprenticeships in mind. So, at the end of the course, you are in a good position to go to either route or you will have gained valuable work experience.

Entry Requirements 5 GCSEs/international GCSEs at grade 4 or above, including English, Maths and Business or Economics, and/or Vocational Tech Award qualification(s) at Level 2 at Pass and above in a relevant subject, e.g. BTEC Tech Award in Business. 16–18 year-olds Students may demonstrate the ability to succeed in various ways. For example, they may have relevant work experience or specific aptitude shown through diagnostic tests or non-educational experience. (Exceptions to entry requirements onto our level 3 qualifications may be considered)

Assessment Exam Board: Pearson This is a two-year course. In the first year, you will complete two externally set exams in the core component and an employer set project. In the second year, you will complete an occupational specialism in Assistant Accountant through synoptic assignments

Facilities There are no specific resource requirements for this qualification. However, you will need study materials such as calculator, pen, note book. We shall provide you with additional resources.
