Building Momentum

The transformation of Stanmore College is progressing rapidly, with major milestones now completed as we move into the next phase of construction. The foundation work, a crucial stage in ensuring the stability of the new campus, is now well underway.

One of the key achievements in recent weeks has been the completion of pile capping, securing the foundations and creating a strong base for the buildings. In addition, ground beams are being installed to evenly distribute the weight of the structures, while steel reinforcement has been placed inside formwork to strengthen the beams. The first structural slab is set to be poured this week, marking another step forward in the project.

With the foundation work progressing, drainage and waterproofing measures have now begun. Drainage channels for Block B are being installed, ensuring efficient water management, while waterproofing beneath the slab will prevent groundwater from affecting the foundation. A damp-proof membrane (DPM) is also being laid to protect the building from moisture, ensuring durability and sustainability.

Looking ahead, a major milestone is set for 1st February 2025, when the construction crane will be delivered and assembled. This will be a pivotal moment in the project, allowing work on the structural framework to accelerate.
