Many of our Graduate Therapists open their own Salons or work at a beauty salon,or become Mobile Therapists or self employed working from home.

Course Content

If you want a long term career in the Beauty Industry then upon successful completion of this course you will become a fully qualified Beauty Therapist with opportunities in all the top Salons, Spa’s Health Clubs, Hotels and Cruise Ships internationally.

This course offers a range of advanced units that build on skills that students have already mastered at Level 2. Level 3 also offers further complex treatments such as massage, body and facial electrical treatments and electrolysis which most salons now offer; this qualification is essential for the career of any beauty therapist.

BODY MASSAGE

We have structured this module to bring you a wealth of valuable massage techniques that will set you at the cutting edge going into the industry. You will cover the following techniques;

• Swedish Body Massage
• Indian Head Massage

FACIAL ELECTROTHERAPY

This module will enable you to gain the knowledge and understanding of a wide variety of popular electrical and mechanical treatments for the face;

• Facial Faradic
• Vacuum Suction/Mechanical Lymphatic Drainage
• Micro-current/Non-Surgical Lift
• Facial Galvanic Treatments
• High Frequency Facials
• Microdermabrasion

BODY ELECTROTHERAPY

This module will provide you with the knowledge and understanding of a wide variety of popular electrical and mechanical treatments for the body;

• Faradic/Slender-tone
• Vacuum Suction/Mechanical Lymphatic Drainage
• Micro-current/Non-Surgical Lift
• Microdermabrasion

Electrolysis

This module will provide you with the knowledge and understanding of the theory and practical knowledge in permanently removing facial and body hair by using the epilation technology.

• Different hair types
• How to operate the machine
• Different needle sizes

Course Outcomes

Diploma in Level 3 Beauty Therapy General

Progression

Upon completion of your course you will achieve a Level 3 Diploma in Beauty Therapy General. This qualification will enable you to work as a qualified therapist in the industry and you will be eligible to take out insurance to complete all treatments you are qualified in.

Successful completion of this course will mean you are a fully qualified Beauty Therapist – you can find work in spas, salons or on cruise ships. You may also want to become a mobile therapist. You may also like to study an additional Level 4 qualification:

• Level 4 Laser and IPL hair removal and skin rejuvenation.
• Level 4  Advanced medical facials

Progression can also be into management and many Therapists then go on to open their own businesses. We can help advise you how to do that too!

Entry Requirements

• The minimum age for entry to this beauty therapy diploma course is 17 years – no exceptions.
• A Full Level 2 Beauty Therapy Diploma is required to attend this course.
• An excellent level of English is required to attend this course, you must be able to speak, read, write and understand English fluently.
• English and maths GCSE grade 4 or above or equivalent e.g. ‘O’ level grade C or above.

Assessment

Upon completion of the course, you will be required to submit a portfolio, all practical assessments will be achieved in the classroom. You will be assess through theory exams (multiple choice), practical assessment and assignments for each unit You will receive the following qualification:

• VTCT Level 3 Beauty Therapy Studies Diploma

There are no specific resource requirements for this qualification. Everything will be provided except the uniform.
