This qualification will provide you with the fundamental knowledge and skills to become a Junior Hairdresser.

Course Content

The NVQ2 Diploma in Hairdressing will provide you with a good understanding of hairdressing treatments including cutting, colouring, shampooing and styling. This will enable you to develop skills which will prepare you to progress to Level 3 Women’s Hairdressing.

The NVQ2 Hairdressing  course is an ideal starting point for those wanting to enter the hairdressing industry. The course will provide you with a good understanding of a range of hairdressing services.

Course content

  • Give customers a positive impression of yourself and your organisation
  • Ensure responsibility for actions to reduce risks to health and safety
  • Shampoo, condition and treat hair scalp
  • Change hair colour
  • Advice and consult your client
  • Style and finish hair
  • Set and dress hair
  • Cut hair using basic techniques

Entry Requirements

Must have completed a minimum of Level 1  Functional Skills Qualification in both English and Maths.

 

Progression

This course will allow you to progress to Level 3 Diploma in Women’s Hairdressing or into employment.

Assessment

You will be assessed on your technical skills, assignments and exams.
