Course outline

​BT4C5. The VTCT (ITEC) Level 4 Certificate in Skin Needling is an advanced therapy qualification aimed at level 3 qualified practitioners aged 18 and over, who wish to add this therapy to their repertoire of treatment offerings. Learners are required to hold a level 3 beauty therapy qualification or equivalent.

Entry requirements

• Level 3 Anatomy and Physiology with Level 2/3 Beauty Therapy or Level 2 Skincare, or  Medical background 
• Students should be 18 years and over
• Student should possess a good command of English
• Student should have a satisfactory level of education

What are the course outcomes

Radio frequency uses RF energy to heat the deeper layers of the skin to stimulate collagen production, helping to reduce and diminish fine lines and flaccid skin. Like other non-ablative treatments treatment times and duration are usually over 8 weeks to improve skin condition. This treatment is an alternative to those clients who do not want to go down the aesthetic or surgical route. There are various frequencies of RF found on the market which use monopolar, bipolar or unipolar. RF can be used for fat reduction, body contouring, lifting and tightening.

During the course you will be given instruction on both roller and pen needling, a very valuable skill, to have as they are both used widely in industry. You will be shown how to safely and correctly carry out both procedures, discussing their benefits and differences. Products for use include those that are used for both needling and also mesotherapy which gives this course an added benefit. Here you will be given instruction and product information on those most commonly used to treat various skin conditions as well as fine lines and wrinkles. Anyone who is new or looking to increase skills will enjoy this lucrative course.

How will you be assessed

Theory assessment is through ongoing assignments some of which is done as online student portal. Practical observation takes place at the school, however part of ongoing practical will be completed as distance learning.  All evidence is collated by way of a student portfolio which your tutor has access too. Ongoing support will be given throughout the duration of the course. This course is also suitable for both live class and distance learners. For those learners who do not have access to computers can submit by paper form. Please enquire for details.
