Course Content

For the UAL Level 2 Award in Fashion Business and Retail Units 1 and 2, linked together, form a coherent pattern of teaching and learning to provide the student with an introduction to the skills, knowledge and understanding necessary to explore, enhance and sustain their creative development and determine a standard from which all other activities and learning will develop. Students will be given a broad diagnostic introduction to Fashion Retail that will develop their understanding of the interrelated nature of the discipline. In order to achieve the qualification, students must successfully pass two units.

Course Outcomes

UAL Level 2 Award and Diploma in Fashion Business & Retail

The UAL Level 2 Award and Diploma in Fashion Business and Retail provides students with an understanding of fashion business and retail through a broad diagnostic experience that prepares them for the reality of the sector and progression paths available to them.

The qualification will provide students with:

  • An introduction to the skills and knowledge of fashion, business and retail
  • An introduction to contextual research for fashion retail
  • An opportunity to explore and enhance their creative development
  • A broad diagnostic introduction to fashion, business and retail
  • A standard from which all other learning will develop

Progression

The majority of the students completing the UAL Level 2 Award in Fashion Business and Retail progress onto the UAL Level 2 Diploma Fashion Business and Retail qualification.

Entry Requirements

At least a grade 3 in 4 GCSE subjects including English and Maths.

Assessment

Units are internally assessed.
