19+ Discretionary Bursary

Students aged 19 and over on 31st August 2022 will normally pay registration, tuition and exam fees in addition to kit, additional activity, visits or books. The 19+ Bursary helps learners studying a level 1, 2 or a first full level 3 qualification.  To be eligible the learner must be aged 19 or over on 31st August 2022 with a gross household income of £30,000 or less.

You will be able to apply for the 2022-2023 bursary once you have completed the enrolment process. The college has an online application portal and this will be going live very soon please check back on this page for future updates.

Advanced Learning Loan

You could apply for a government loan called an Advanced Learning Loan if you are aged 19 or over and studying an eligible Level 3 or above course, including Access to Higher Education Diplomas, Certificates or other Level 3 or above courses. You could then study on a course and pay no upfront tuition costs.

If eligible you will not have to make any repayments until your income is over £27,295 a year. In addition, if you progress from an Access to Higher Education Diploma course to complete a Higher Education Degree you could have your outstanding Advanced Learning Loan for the Access course written off so that you do not need to repay it.

Advanced Learning Loan Bursary

To be eligible for an Advanced Learning Loan Bursary you will be:

  • An approved Advanced Learning Loan applicant [from Student Finance England].
  • Able to evidence a gross household income of less than £30,000 per annum.

16+ Oyster application are made by Student’s parents/guardian- college only confirms that you are enrolled at Stanmore college.

18+ Oyster applications are made by the applicant themselves- college only confirms that you are enrolled at Stanmore college.

If you are 18 and 31 Aug 2022, you can still apply for 16+ if you are in full time education.

Please note that if you are applying for 18+ and paying £20 application fee- this amount will not be refunded by TFL if you later change the application to 16+ . Please be aware that 16+ oyster gives you free travel on buses and 50% off on Trains while 18+ gives 30% off on bus and train fares. So please make the right application.

16+ oyster applications can be made by students living outside London, but they will only get 50% off on their bus and Train Fare.

At present 18+ oyster applications are not available for any applicants with postcode outside of London.
