Students and staff donate to support Ukrainian People in Crisis

#StandWithUkraine

People across the world want to do their bit to support those who have been forced to flee their homes in Ukraine because of the invasion. Students and staff at Stanmore College were keen to embrace an opportunity to donate essential supplies including hygiene items, toiletries, nappies, wipes, clothes, portable canned food and other necessities through a trusted charity organisation.

Friday afternoon, 25th March, saw James Duncan, Head of the School of Sport, with the help of Gary Vine, Site Maintenance, load up all the boxes of items for Ukraine before James kindly delivered them to the charity for onward transmission. It was a very generous collection of items from you all and it was quite moving sending it onwards wondering who will receive the items and what their situation will be.

Thank you to all who donated and to Lois Vassell, Vice-Principal - Curriculum & Quality for initiating this activity and finding an appropriate registered charity for assured onward passage of goods and to Deepa Artani, Director of Student Services and Designated Safeguarding Lead for co-ordinating it.

Here are just some of the boxes from this supportive joint effort.
