Stanmore Coach/Sports’ Teacher part of winning England Team

Congratulations to our Sports Coach/Teacher, Jamie Coyle, for participating in the England Team in the The England Seniors World Cup.

 

The England Seniors World Cup (40+ age group) was hosted in Bangkok, Thailand between 5-10th June. England faced Thailand, Vietnam and New Zealand in the group stages winning all three games.

They progressed to the semi-final against Australia, where they won 2-1. The England Team faced Iran in the final who are the current Seniors World Cup holders and won 1-0 to be crowned champions.

All players in the squad spent a day coaching and teaching English in a local school to give something back to the local community on their rest day.
