Business students hear from senior Legal Eagles on accessible pathways to legal careers

David and Nadine Radford visited our business students, in the College’s Main Hall, on 16th of June 2022 to share information about their personal legal careers and the jobs and opportunities that exist in the legal sector.

David had worked for many years in law before retiring; however, he was not quite ready to leave the legal world completely and is now a Deputy Circuit Judge. Fascinated business students were told about David’s experiences working in law and for the courts.  Numerous stories of cases he had worked on were recounted, many of which had featured in the media.

Nadine Radford was born in the United States of America and moved to the United Kingdom where she met her husband, David. Nadine worked in the Queen’s Counsel where she held a variety of roles. Examples of some of the knowledge she had to learn include Paediatrics and Forensic science.

On conclusion of the session, students had a wider awareness of the varied careers in the legal world, some of which are outlined below:

  • Solicitor
  • Barrister
  • Legal Executive
  • Company Secretary
  • Coroner
  • Judge
  • Lecturer of Law
  • Legal Secretary
  • Mediator
  • Paralegal
  • Patent Attorney
  • Trade Maker Attorney

For those who are still in High School, do bear in mind that you can apply to study law from our Business Study programme pathway. For adults, the College offers a range of Access programmes.
