New Build FAQ’s
Moving into a new building is a big moment, and we want to make sure everyone feels prepared. Below you’ll find answers to the most common questions from students, parents and carers.

Which entrance should I use?
It depends on where your classes are timetabled:
If you study Science, Engineering, Health & Social Care, Early Years, Business, M&E or Construction, most of your classes will be in the new building (Blocks A and B) — use the Elm Park Road entrance.
If you study are a SEND learner or study Creative Media, ICT, Art, Accounting, Maths, or English, most of your classes will be in Larch and Hawthorn — use the Old Church Lane entrance.

How many entrances does the college now have?
There are now three entrances to the college: Elm Park Road, Old Church Lane, and The Ridgeway (disabled access only).

What if I have mobility issues?
Students with mobility issues will be contacted individually with information about using The Ridgeway entrance, which provides disabled access.

Where will my classes be held?
Science, Engineering, H&SC, Early Years, Business, M&E and Construction students will mainly be timetabled in Blocks A and B in the new building.
SEND, Creative, ICT, Art, Accounting, Maths, and English students will mainly be timetabled in Larch and Hawthorn.

Who can I speak to if I have questions?
Any member of the Student Services or Estates team will be happy to help.

Will teaching be disrupted during the move?
No. The college will remain fully open and teaching will continue as normal. Students will continue to receive the full curriculum and the standard of education they expect.

Will I receive more information before I return?
Yes. Further updates will be sent to students and parents during the half-term break with the latest news on the build.

Will there be somewhere to eat?
Yes — there is a large new dining facility called The Lounge, offering a daily menu of healthy, nutritious food.

How will I find my way around the new building?
When you return after half-term, you will be given maps and guidance to help you navigate the college. Staff will also be on hand to help.

How long will this be in place for?
From the 1st June until the 1st September 2026
