A short intensive Level 3 course offering a ‘STEP UP’ into the full Level 3 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning. This qualification provides learners the knowledge needed when working directly with children and young people in a school or college environment. It will enable learners to gain an understanding of elements including children and young people’s development and safeguarding their welfare.
Course Content
It covers all aspects of specialist support, including: planning; delivering and reviewing assessment strategies to support learning alongside the teacher; bilingual support; special needs support; and personal development and reflective practice.

- provide a stepping stone into further learning within the sector.
Progression
Learners who achieve this qualification could progress to the Level 3 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning or into the workforce.

English and maths qualification at grade 4 grade C or functional skills level 2
Assessment
Internally assessed and externally quality assured portfolio of evidence
To achieve this qualification learners are required to successfully complete 4 mandatory units.
