The Laser and Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) Treatments VTCT NVQ Certificate Level 4 is an Ofqual regulated course that is a highly sought-after credential in the beauty and aesthetic industry.
Throughout the course, you will learn about hair removal and skin rejuvenation treatments using salon-grade laser machines. You will understand the principles of laser and IPL technology, be able to perform laser and IPL hair removal treatments safely and effectively, and, be able to develop treatment plans for skin rejuvenation using lasers and IPL. The course covers the following content:
Laser and IPL principles:
Understanding laser and IPL technology, safety protocols, and client consultation.
Hair Removal:
Techniques for permanent hair reduction using lasers and IPL.
Skin Rejuvenation:
Treatments for skin concerns like fine lines, pigmentation, and skin texture.
Client Assessment:
Evaluating skin types, hair types, and client suitability.
Treatment Protocols:
Developing treatment plans, managing client expectations, and aftercare.

- Progression
You can work as a Laser Therapist in aesthetic clinics, salons, and spas that offer laser hair removal and skin rejuvenation treatments. You can pursue further Level 4 and Level 5 advanced aesthetic training.
- Entry Requirements
Speak, read, write and understand English fluently
Relevant medical qualification are accepted.
Level 2 and Level 3 Beauty Therapy qualification (preferred).
Or, Level 2 Facial, Level 3 Facial and Level 3 Anatomy and Physiology qualification. - Assessments
Theoretical knowledge: Understanding laser and IPL technology, safety, and treatment protocols.
Practical skills: Demonstrating competence in performing laser and IPL treatments.
Client consultation and care: Effective communication, client assessment, and aftercare. - Class Schedule
1 day a week for 10 weeks.
Dates available 3 times a year between 12 September 2025 – 26 June 2026. - Location
Our Beauty and Hairdressing courses are currently offered at two well established academies in Stanmore and the local area.
