Major Milestone Achieved as Oak Building Demolition Completes

As work continues on the exciting redevelopment of Stanmore College, significant progress was made throughout September, marking another important milestone in the delivery of our new build.

Oak Building Successfully Demolished

During September, the demolition of the Oak Building was successfully completed. While it is always sad to say goodbye to a building that has played a role in the College’s history, this marks an important step towards creating modern, future-focused facilities for our students and local community.

The completion of the Oak demolition has opened up further areas of the site, allowing the team to continue preparing the ground for the next stages of construction.

Elm Building Cleared for Demolition

Demolition activities for Elm are expected to commence during November/December, subject to the project programme and site conditions.

Site Preparation and Crushing Operations

Throughout September, contractors continued site preparation works, including the processing and recycling of demolition materials. A crusher remained active on site to help reduce waste and maximise the reuse of materials wherever possible.

An additional crusher is scheduled to arrive to support this activity. Bouygues UK will continue to make every effort to manage these activities responsibly and in consideration of the surrounding community.

Looking Ahead

Over the coming months, attention will focus on the demolition of the Elm Building and further site preparation works as we move closer to the next exciting phase of the development.

We would like to thank students, staff, residents and our neighbours for their continued patience and support while construction progresses. Regular updates will continue to be shared as the project advances.
