The Sports Studies NCFE Diploma Level 2 course will help you to develop practical and work-based skills around sport.
The course is your opportunity to immerse yourself in the world of sport while gaining related introductory and transferrable skills to start or progress in the sports sector. The course covers units where you will be able to develop knowledge and skills in sports, fitness and coaching.
Course Content:
- Sports coaching.
- Developing sporting skills and tactical awareness.
- Introduction to health and nutrition.
- Plan, deliver and evaluate an activity session.
- Participating in sport.
- Anatomy and physiology for exercise.
- Lifestyle of the sports performer.
You will also have the opportunity to further develop on your coaching skills and knowledge of health by completing Improving Personal Exercise and Health NCFE Level 2.

2 GCSEs at grades 3 or above, including English.

My time at United Select and Stanmore College was filled with some of the best moments of my life and opened the door to countless opportunities. United Select gave me the chance to work in sport, a dream I had held since joining the programme at Stanmore College. When I joined the United Select football and education programme, my ambition was to become a professional footballer. However, by my second year, I realised this was unlikely. Throughout this time, my tutors at United Select were incredibly supportive and did everything possible to help me work towards my long-term career goals. They helped me secure a week of work experience at Fulham FC Foundation and continued to provide opportunities even after I had completed the programme. They also strongly encouraged my decision to pursue university, pushing me to achieve the grades I needed and ensuring the transition was as smooth as possible. Having the support and foundation of United Select has been invaluable. Without it, I would almost certainly be in a very different place today. I give full credit to United Select and Stanmore College for the guidance and encouragement they provided. Looking back now, it’s clear just how significant an impact they have had on my life.
