Volunteering

Become a volunteer and you'll be learning new skills and making a difference to someone’s life. It can be a great way to feel good and you can make new friends. We're always impressed by the work and dedication of our student volunteers at events that run in and out of the College. You don't have to volunteer for weeks at a time - a lot of our projects need you to help out just for a day. We have a wide variety of student ambassador (volunteer) roles. Volunteers can be involved in a range of opportunities including:

- Student Digital Ambassadors – helping students and staff grapple with digital technology and make the most of the opportunities it brings to learning

- STEM Ambassadors – helping promote the work of the STEM department and promoting STEM skills at internal and external events

- Student events volunteers – helping to welcome visitors to our site and showcasing the work of the college, whether for awards events, open evenings or parents events

- Enrichment ambassadors – helping promote the benefits of participation in sporting and non-sporting activities outside the classroom. You would be helping to develop new enrichment ideas and helping to run enrichment activities, especially for students who may not have engaged in enrichment in the past.

Speak to our Enrichment Team or your tutor to find out how to get involved. For learners over 18 on our part time provision, the college runs a volunteering scheme to help in a wider range of roles. We welcome volunteers in finance, in the learning resource centre, as learning support assistants, as volunteer teachers, technical services and in student support. If you have a skill you can share with us and a few hours a week to spare, please come and talk to the HR team about how you can join our college community to help provide the best possible opportunities for learners.
