We encourage students to be involved in decisions about their education through involvement in writing up their Individual Learning Plan (ILP) and working closely with other professionals. In addition to this we encourage students to attend focus groups to give them a voice, enable them to share their experiences of the college and influence change.
The College has a Disability Statement which is available on request from the Inclusion Team.
Examinations
When taking exams, extra time, rest periods, the use of a separate room, the use of a scribe/reader/prompter or a word processor are some of the concessions granted to students on production of supporting written evidence detailing the students difficulties. This may be a letter from the GP/Consultant, an Educational Psychologist report or a report from a specialist teacher of students with dyslexia. If you have previously received support or exam concessions, it is important to let the Inclusion Team know as soon as possible.
