Course Content
Becoming a British citizen or deciding to settle permanently in this country is an important event in your life. If you are making an application for British Citizenship or Indefinite Leave to Remain, you need to have the knowledge of English Language and life in the UK.
If you are not an English speaker and you are not a skilled or highly skilled migrant, you must pass a course in English for speakers of other languages (ESOL). You can also enrol on our ESOL with citizenship courses, which will prepare you for ‘Life in the UK test'.
You will develop skills in Speaking & Listening, Reading and Writing as well as your knowledge about life in the UK.
The course is aimed at adults, who are resident in the UK and need to improve their English so can develop the language skills and their knowledge about life in the UK.
Course Outcomes
- Get on a part time course next September
- Get part time or full -time employment, 'Life in the UK test'
- Talk to teachers, employers and officials and understand the customs of the UK
Interview
Before you can enrol on an ESOL course you need to attend an assessment to determine your level. Your level of English will be determined by your previous qualifications in ESOL, as well as a reading and writing assessment and an interview. You need to book an appointment by calling reception on 0208 420 7700.
