The Engineering BTEC First Certificate Level 2 is a one year practical course to develop a solid foundation for understanding and applying engineering principles within our modern economy to drive change and innovation.
You will develop fundamental skills and knowledge required in the industry, from design, technical aspects, and practical applications.
Core units focus on:
The engineering world.
Investigating an engineered product.
Engineering materials.
Interpreting and using engineering information.
Mathematics for engineering.
Electrical and mechanical science for engineering
Engineering design.
The course will prepare you for further study, apprenticeship or work in the sector.
Additional Information
- Progression
You can progress to further study, such as BTEC Level 3 Foundation Diploma in Engineering, T Level Engineering – Design and Development for Engineering and Manufacturing, or T Level in Design, Surveying and Planning for Construction. You can also apply for an apprenticeship or go into employment.
- Entry Requirements
GCSE grade 4 in Maths and 3 other GCSEs at grade 3 or above, including English and Science or Engineering.
- Assessment
All units are internally assessed.
2 units are externally assessed.
