Course Content
The BTEC Level 1 Diploma course is an essential starting point for any learner that is interested in Engineering. It will develop their knowledge, understanding and skills that will enable the learner to progress to further learning or training qualifications in Engineering at a higher level. The course also provides and develops wider personal and employability skills including Maths and English.
Course Outcomes
In order to achieve the level 1 diploma in Engineering qualification, a learner must complete and achieve 37 credits which includes a mandatory 3-credit unit (Working Safely in Engineering). A learner will also study a range of engineering and electronics training skills including : • Developing Skills in Electronic Assembly • Starting Work in Engineering • Working in a Team • Using hand tools
Progression
BTEC First Certificate in Engineering - Level 2
Entry Requirements
GCSE grade 3(D) in Maths and 3 other GCSEs grade 2(E) or above including English & science.
Assessment
Assessment is carried out by completing portfolio of evidence, practical demonstrations and completed tasks which will be given through assignments. All assignments are internally assessed. A summative unit grade is awarded a pass.
Equipment
Student will need a text book, stationery, calculator, writing paper, folder, etc for the organisation of their work.
