Stanmore College visits ITV Studios for new T Level Media Course

Stanmore College is buzzing with excitement as it prepares to launch its brand-new T Level course in Media: Content Creation, Production & Broadcast.

As part of our ongoing committment to provide students with real-world industry insight and hands-on opportunities, our Work Placement Coordinator and Industry Leader, Ruhina Mehdi, recently visited the iconic home of ITV in London.

Hosted by Laura Scougall, Head of ITV Academy, the visit offered a unique behind-the-scenes experience. Representatives from various colleges, including Stanmore, were treated to an exclusive studio tour and an in-depth session on the inner workings of ITV. Laura generously shared her expertise on ITV’s organisational structure, highlighting key roles and career pathways that align closely with the T Levels curriculum, giving educators valuable knowledge to pass on to future students.

One of the highlights of the tour was walking through the sets of popular shows such as Good Morning BritainLoose Women, and Saturday Night Takeaway. It was both inspiring and insightful to see the energy and professionalism that is behind the creation of these well-loved programmes.

The timing of this visit couldn’t have been better. With the new T Level Media – Content Creation Production and Broadcast launching at Stanmore College, the insights gained directly informed the design of upcoming taster sessions for prospective students. From understanding content production workflows to exploring progression opportunities in broadcast media, the visit proved immensely valuable in shaping an engaging and future-focused course.
