Stanmore College Students Gain Insight into Careers in Investment Management
A group of Stanmore College students recently took part in an inspiring workshop delivered by Investment20/20, the talent solution from the Investment Association. The session introduced students to the Investment20/20 Trainee Programme, which connects young people with over 50 leading investment management firms across the UK.
Students learned about the full-time, paid trainee roles that typically last 12 months and include structured training, mentorship, and access to valuable industry networks. Some positions also form part of a formal apprenticeship, offering an alternative route into the sector without the need for a traditional university degree.
Since its launch in 2013, Investment20/20 has helped thousands of people start successful careers in finance, operations, technology, and marketing. The programme is widely recognised across the sector for promoting inclusion and opening doors to individuals from all backgrounds.
The workshop left students motivated and informed, giving them a clearer understanding of the diverse career paths available in investment management. This session was organised by our Work Placement Department, whose partnership with Investment20/20 ensures students gain access to valuable career insights and connections with industry professionals.
“We’re always looking for meaningful ways to connect our students with the industries that inspire them,” said Ruhina Mehdi, our Work Experience and Industry Team Leader. “This workshop gave students a real-world view of the investment management sector and the many exciting opportunities it offers.”
Stanmore College extends sincere thanks to Jenny Barber, Director of Careers & Talent, and Sue Allen, Career & Talent Coordinator at Investment20/20, for delivering such an engaging and informative session.
