Stanmore College Accredited to the Matrix Standard

Our College has been accredited to retain the Matrix Standard, demonstrating the high quality Information Advice and Guidance (IAG) services we provide to our students.

The Matrix Standard is the international quality standard for organisations that deliver information, advice and/or guidance (IAG), either as their sole purpose or as part of their service offering. The scope of the 2025 Matrix Accreditation review covered our IAG Service available to all students enrolled at Stanmore College. Multiple services throughout the College were reviewed, ensuring a thorough assessment and a cross-college review.

The IAG service is integral to our purpose and priorities. We provide a broad curriculum offer including 16-19 Study Programmes, T Levels, ESOL courses, and a range of part-time vocational and leisure courses. Our offerings have grown successfully over the last three years providing a significant contribution to the upskilling of local people and support to employers. During the assessment, students that were interviewed identified strongly with our College and talked very positively about their experiences, often describing us as “a great place to study“.

Roger Chapman, Head of the Matrix Service for The Growth Company said: “This is a fantastic achievement for Stanmore College and I would like to congratulate the team on their success. We believe that at the heart of high-quality advice and support services are strong leadership, excellent service and a focus on continuous improvement, all underpinned by effective use of the resources available. The Matrix Standard is designed to benchmark organisations against best practice in these areas. With their accreditation success, Stanmore College is working to provide the best possible support to their clients.”

Commenting on the award, our Director of Student Services and Safeguarding, Gayle Brown said: “I’m delighted to announce our successful Matrix reaccreditation, a testament to the hard work and dedication of our Student Services, Admissions and Marketing teams. I was especially proud to hear of the positive feedback from the assessor, who recognised the high level of support we provide to our learners, particularly noting that learners feel cared for and we ‘help build trust’. This achievement reflects not only our ongoing commitment to quality but also the strong collaboration throughout the process. I would like to thank everyone involved, including the assessor, for their support and recognition of our efforts.”
