It was a fascinating experience to visit the Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden Recruitment Fair, where the scale and excitement of the event reflected the growing interest in careers within the film and TV production industry.

Sheila Fraser Whyte, Interim Director of Business Development, and I, Ruhina Mehdi, Work Placement Coordinator, were delighted to attend the event and engage with a wide range of teams across the Studios. From Facilities, Operations, and Engineering to Technical Services, Waste and Recycling, and Warehouse Management, it was inspiring to see the variety of roles that contribute to the success of one of the UK’s most iconic studio locations.

The hour and half queue to enter the event spoke volumes about its popularity and the enthusiasm of jobseekers and students eager to learn more about behind-the-scenes opportunities in the industry.

These kinds of collaborations are essential as we continue to shape the curriculum to reflect the real-world skills that employers are looking for. Meeting with employers and understanding the current vacancies helps us better prepare students for their future careers, ensuring they develop both the technical and soft skills required for success in these roles.

We look forward to sharing the information and leaflets collected at the event with both students and teachers, to help raise awareness of the career pathways available and to support students in preparing for future applications.
