IT Students Explore AI and Emotional Intelligence at EY Foundation

We were thrilled to take 25 of our IT and Computing students on an exciting learning journey to the EY Foundation, where they delved into the fascinating world of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Emotional Intelligence (EI).

Led by the knowledgeable Amira Ismail, Regional Programmes Manager at the EY Foundation, the session covered four engaging modules:

  • Neuro Intelligence – understanding how AI draws inspiration from the human brain.
  • AI’s Impact on Society – exploring both the incredible opportunities and potential risks of AI.
  • AI and Creativity – Discovering how AI generates new visual, audio, and written content.
  • Emotional Intelligence and AI – emphasising the vital role of interpersonal skills in an increasingly AI-driven world.

IT students from our T Level, Level 2, and Gateway course participated enthusiastically, engaging fully with each module.

The trip was expertly led by multiple staff from our work placement teams, department lecturers, the curriculum manager, support assistant, and our one-to-one support staff, who helped make the day accessible and enjoyable for all students. Their guidance ensured a positive and memorable learning experience for everyone involved.

A huge thank you to the EY Foundation for hosting our students, and well done to our them for their curiosity, teamwork, and enthusiasm throughout the day. We can’t wait to see how these insights shape their future in technology!
