Business Department Hosts Successful Fundraising Event for Children in Need

On 18th March, our Business Department organised a highly impactful fundraising event in support of a noble cause, Children in Need. The event not only raised vital funds but also provided students with valuable insights into recruitment and career development.

Expert Insights on Recruitment and Career Growth

The theme of the event focused on what recruiters look for in candidates and how to successfully manage a recruitment company alongside an accounting software training institute. Students had the opportunity to gain practical knowledge from two distinguished guest speakers, both experts in their fields.

The event featured two insightful industry professionals.

Bal Mangat, owner of MCR Recruiting Agency and head of an accounting software training institute delivered a session on: What recruiters look for in candidates and how to successfully manage a recruitment company alongside an accounting software training institute. He shared his extensive experience in recruitment, offering practical tips on what employers truly value in potential candidates. He also discussed SAP software training and how it can benefit students in their career development.

Minerva Golten, HR & Office Manager at Robothink Discovery Centre, dellieverd a session on: What recruiters seek in CVs and cover letters of job applicants and placement seekers. She provided essential guidance on crafting the perfect CV and cover letter. Her session helped students understand how to present themselves effectively to stand out in a competitive job market.

Event Highlights

The event saw an impressive turnout, with a large number of students eager to learn from industry leaders. Both sessions were packed with invaluable insights, equipping students with the knowledge needed to navigate the often-challenging job market and improve their employment prospects.
