Bouygues UK Hosts T Level Construction Students for Industry Induction

Ahead of starting their March placements, T Level Construction students stepped inside Bouygues UK’s Waterloo headquarters to gain first-hand insight into professional standards, workplace expectations and the realities of working in the sector.

On 20 February, T Level Construction students visited the Waterloo head office of Bouygues UK for their official industry placement induction. They were accompanied by Oluwasean Lottu, Curriculum Manager, Construction, as they prepared to begin their placements next month.

The visit marks an important milestone in the students’ T Level journey. In March, they will commence three-week placements, contributing towards the 45-day (315-hour) industry requirement that forms a core element of the qualification.

The day began with a comprehensive overview of Bouygues as a global construction organisation employing more than 200,000 people worldwide. Students gained valuable insight into the company’s international growth, large-scale projects, and its position as a leading force within the construction sector.

A particular highlight was hearing directly from team members about their individual career journeys. Their openness and enthusiasm offered students a clear picture of the diverse pathways available within construction, from site management to social value roles, and demonstrated how dedication and ambition can lead to rewarding careers.

The induction also provided a valuable opportunity to connect with peers from Chelmsford College, London Design and Engineering UTC and City of Westminster College, further strengthening collaboration across the growing T Level network.

A special thank you to: Paula Arkell-Waller, Deputy Social Value Manager, Kathryn Ridyard, Resident Liaison Officer and Social Value Advisor, and the wider Bouygues UK team for delivering such an engaging and informative induction. Partnerships like these are instrumental in ensuring our students gain meaningful industry experience and genuine insight into the world of construction.
