As the Weather Shifts, Progress Stays Strong
Work on our DfE-funded new build project, managed by Bouygues UK, has continued at pace over the past few weeks, with exciting progress both inside and out.
On the exterior, fittings for the cladding have now been installed on the far side of the building and are steadily working their way around the site. We can now see the same activity on our side, giving a real sense of how the finished building will look. The roof is also taking shape, with insulation nearly complete and brackets in place ready for the installation of solar panels.
Inside, classrooms and learning spaces are beginning to feel more real. Internal walls are now up, ready for trades such as electricians and IT specialists to feed cables through. Ceilings have been painted, while plumbers have been busy installing pipework for sinks in classrooms and staff areas, as well as completing foul water connections.
Looking ahead, a temporary crane will be arriving on site next week to lift windows into position — another visible milestone as the building continues to progress. And before long, we’ll also begin welcoming small groups onto site, giving staff and students the chance to get a real feel for their future learning spaces.
