Apprenticeship Talk Inspires Students

Ahead of National Apprenticeship Week, Stanmore College hosted an engaging apprenticeship talk for Engineering and Construction students, delivered by placement partner Vinci Building.

The session took place on 4 February and was led by Helen Pietruch, Social Value Manager, with contributions from Milena Davis, Head of Early Careers, and Josie Crowhurst, an apprentice at Vinci.

Students learned about Vinci’s background, the range of careers available within the organisation, and the apprenticeship opportunities currently on offer. The talk generated strong engagement, with students asking thoughtful questions, particularly about the application process, and receiving practical tips to support their applications.

Meeting a current apprentice was a highlight. Hearing directly from Josie allowed students to relate to her journey and gain a realistic understanding of what starting a career through an apprenticeship looks like in practice. With the application link due to go live soon, many students are now preparing to apply this month.

Thank you to Helen Pietruch and the team at Vinci for their time and continued support in inspiring and guiding our students towards future career opportunities.
