Accounting in Action: T Level Students Take on Monopoly Lifesized
T Level Accounting students stepped beyond the classroom and into a real-world financial challenge, applying budgeting, risk analysis and strategic thinking during an immersive visit to Monopoly Lifesized.
On 25 February 2026, our T Level Accounting students took part in an engaging and educational visit to Monopoly Lifesized, an interactive experience inspired by the iconic board game. The trip was designed to enhance classroom learning by enabling students to apply key accounting and financial principles in a dynamic and fun setting.
As they navigated the life-sized board, students were challenged to manage budgets, assess financial risk, calculate profit and loss, and make strategic investment decisions. Core curriculum topics such as cash flow, profitability and opportunity cost were brought to life as students experienced the immediate impact of their financial choices. This hands-on approach reinforced their understanding of how decision-making influences both businesses and individuals in real-world contexts.
Beyond strengthening technical knowledge, the visit also supported the development of essential employability skills. Throughout the session, students demonstrated:
- Teamwork and collaboration: planning strategies and making joint financial decisions.
- Communication skills: articulating ideas clearly, negotiating and listening effectively.
- Problem-solving: responding to unexpected challenges and adapting plans quickly.
- Critical thinking and analysis: weighing risk against reward before investing.
- Time management: making informed decisions under pressure.
- Resilience and adaptability: adjusting strategies following setbacks.
- Professional conduct: showing maturity, respect and responsibility throughout the day.
Students participated in strategic games, further sharpening their analytical thinking and decision-making skills.
This visit forms part of our ongoing commitment to providing enriching opportunities that support students’ academic, personal and professional growth. By connecting theory with practical application, experiences such as this help prepare our T Level Accounting students for successful careers in finance and business.
